Dubbed one of the most pivotal land acquisitions in history, the newly acquired property in Westport is set to serve as a crucial connector between two key logistics infrastructures.
To accommodate our growing community’s needs, we are exploring the acquisition of additional acres for expanded infrastructure. This expansion will allow for new facilities and improved services, ensuring our infrastructure keeps pace with demand and supports sustainable development in the area.
FORT WORTH, TX— The developer behind the 26,000-acre project, has secured 600 acres of contiguous land centrally located within its development. Situated in the westport area along FM 156, between Fort Worth airport and the intermodal facility, this new acquisition boosts the potential for future industrial development to over 36 million square feet in Tarrant and Denton counties. It also enhances the company’s capacity to provide substantial logistics, manufacturing, and aviation sites next to the newly expanded runways at the airport.
Tony Creme, the senior vice president, characterized the acquisition as “one of the most significant in history.” He added, “The continued growth of the airport and the intermodal facility makes this new property in Westport a vital connector between these key logistics hubs, offering superior connectivity for our clients.”
Westport is anchored by the intermodal facility, which supports both domestic and international services. It offers economical and eco-friendly direct routes to Mexico, as well as expedited transit times to Los Angeles and Long Beach. Operating at volumes similar to major U.S. ocean ports, the intermodal facility is recognized as one of the most important inland port projects in the nation.
